According to an article on the WMTW website, the Maine State Police are investigating the Sunday death of a 3-year-old Maine boy.

The article explains that, at about 8:30 on Sunday morning, members of the Penobscot County Sheriff's Office responded to a 911 call about a child that had gone missing from an Exter Road, Corinna, residence.

The boy was reportedly found outside by his father, a short time later.

Despite the best efforts of first responders, the child passed away.  The authorities say the boy's injuries are consistent with exposure to the elements.  However, the medical examiner will perform an autopsy to determine the manner of death.

Police say they believe this is an isolated incident and that there is no danger to the public.
