
Maine Turnpike Closed Northbound Between York and Wells After Crash
A crash on the Maine Turnpike is causing major traffic disruptions Friday morning, forcing the closure of the northbound lanes between York and Wells.
According to the Maine Turnpike Authority, the crash happened near mile marker 18 in Wells. As a result, the northbound side of the Turnpike is shut down between Exit 7 in York and Exit 19 in Wells while crews respond to the scene.
WGME is reporting that motorists traveling through the area should expect significant delays as traffic is diverted. Emergency responders and cleanup crews are working to clear the roadway, but officials have not provided an estimated time for when the northbound lanes will reopen.
